Tenino Oregon Trail Days Report
Hi Troops,
Some of ya missed a fine Potluck and Barbecue on the 22nd. Others gained a pound or two.
First off the highlights of the Tenino Oregon Trail Days meeting. It took place the 21st. It was a "How did we do . What can we do to improve meeting." In no particular order this is the way it appears in my notes. They didn't like Tim's idea to have the town dress the part of the Oregon Trail folks. I gave my congrats to the Chairman for the way she handled the event. Always there with the correct information. They liked the idea of a Black Smith contest, Pig Roast and Traders Auction (more Later). They had a negative response to their people tearing down Sunday. I noted this activity was not helping Traders and other activities. At this point they did all speak to the traders setting up Thursday. They wanted the Traders in business Friday. I know the traders will like this. They have requested this before. They reported 70 entries in the parade. Look for a different parade route next year. I apologized to Dave Defoe. We didn't move the bleachers back. He accepted my apology. Next year the Oregon Trail Days will be 25 through 27 July. Our first meeting will be October 2nd this year.
The following is our meeting notes. Again, it is in the order it's on the paper. Even at the meeting I ramble so nothing new. Bob has received $500 for 2008 and 2009 Rain de Voo's. They will be a Leyman and a Hawkin. I believe both are Raffle guns. The following are the names for positions and vacancies.

Bob had some shooting ideas. The ninety yard target will get bigger. Some targets will change. All targets will have card board backing. So don't be surprised if you receive a couple dozen to paste up before T90. I'm gonna think of Tim's wife name but not yet. Anyway she has access to a lot of card board and a big cutter. The one shot targets will be shot together Sunday with the Pee Wees. Also the Trade Gun will go back to 35 and 25 yards on Sunday. Pistol will be the last target Saturday with the Pee Wees also and 10 shots. There may be an option of shooting Pistol Sat or Sun.
I kicked out some ideas for T90 with no objections from the group. First the Black Smith gathering. I need to get a list or organization of Black Smiths. Does Darrell have such a list? The plan depending on if we can gather a minimum of 3 to 5 hopefully 10 black smiths, is like this. Provide a $100 prize to the best item made at the T90 affair. Have it judged Sunday at hi noon. We can locate the guys on the other side of the fence from the ball field between the walk path and the side walk. Also I proposed a Traders Auction. We would gather items possibly from all the concessions plus the Black Smiths and have Public Auction in the Traders area. Say 12:15. On Saturday evening have a Pot Luck. Oh the Dutch Oven cook Off is still on. I had discussed a steak feed but listen to this, Ben Crow has graciously volunteered to roast a pig. He said would roast a pig for the pot luck. He said he would either do it at T90 or transport it to T90. I think it would be grand to cook it there.
The next item is the work party. First you do have a new roof on the shooting shed. The trail work party did not get done. That has been scheduled for 29 September. So mark that on yer calendar. Also the Event Applications are getting due for the Ronde's. Also the first Monthly Black Powder Match will be 6 October. September has Bob doing New member Orientation. So how is that for a mouth full.
Will
