Thank you for writing to me in opposition to Senate Bill 6396, a measure that would ban assault weapons. I too oppose this bill and hope it meets the same fate as the 2005 assault weapons ban legislation, Senate Bill 5475, which died in committee. I do not believe that this proposed legislation will do anything to curb crime.
